It is hard moving on when a romantic relationship has ended sometimes.

How did the relationship end?

With a handshake?

Like a bomb or a bomb covered?

 

However long it takes you for the feelings in that relationship to end will vary with each person.

Choosing to go through those feelings is up to you.

 

You may one day see your partner with another.

Is she your ex-partner or are you her ex-partner?

What’s the difference?

 

Something so intangible that was shared and is now gone can be hard to move on from, especially if you see your partner with another.

 

I like to think now that I am her ex, she is not my ex

And that something so intangible was shared once and now its gone.

Just remember that you once saw her naked and more importantly…

..just remember that you once saw her very vulnerable.

These facts are something that cannot be wasted when a relationship ends.

The relationship was not all for nothing because it ended.

It was a private and timeless experience.

 

So as I continue to go through the feelings of separating from a partner,

I look at what I gained and can take forever.

 

And as relationships tend to end I know now that I am her ex, she is not mine.
